Creative solutions to life’s challenges.
Art Therapy Bayside
Hi, I’m Kirsten, an experienced Art Therapist and Counsellor practicing in Melbourne’s Bayside and Inner South suburbs. I have over 10 years of clinical experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, parents and families through creative therapeutic approaches.
I specialise in art therapy, play therapy, parent counselling and family dyadic work, using trauma-informed, neuro-affirming and strength-based methods that prioritise safety, regulation and meaningful engagement.
Art therapy is a creative and embodied form of therapy that allows clients to explore emotions, develop self-understanding, regulate difficult experiences and build resilience through art-making, symbolic processes and relational connection — even when words alone are not enough.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is grounded in human connection, collaboration and evidence-informed practice. I draw from a range of modalities including:
• Expressive art therapy — using creative materials to explore internal experience
• Play therapy — developmentally appropriate support especially for children
• Sand tray and symbolic exploration — helping clients reveal meaning and inner themes
• Movement-based and sensory-informed interventions — for regulation and embodied expression
• Relational and attachment-focused therapy — focusing on how connection supports wellbeing
I believe that healing and growth happen within safe, attuned relationships. My work supports emotional regulation, nervous system safety, self-expression, identity exploration and connection across the lifespan.
My Values
• Compassion & curiosity
• Safety & regulation
• Person-centred practice
• Collaboration & empowerment
• Creativity as healing
